DNA Testing

A Grandparentage DNA test is often conducted when the alleged father is not available for testing.  The individuals that will be included in the testing process will include the child and the paternal grandparents. We strongly encourage the mother to contribute her DNA as well. This will increase the accuracy of the test because we are able to immediately eliminate half of the child’s DNA from the testing process. It is recommended to include both paternal grandparents in the testing process which will result in a higher probability of paternity, however one paternal grandparent will be sufficient enough.
